Rapper, Tata Lunga Sheynkip (say the whole name!) is back again. Towards the close of last year he kept teasing fans with the ‘next year we dropping’ line and alas, it has come to pass.
Tata features on Asapkid’s ‘Blow’, singing a chorus and dropping mind boggling bars.
The video was brought to life by February 16, and the audio produced by Mettod J.
In a couple of scenes, Tata is seen wearing a t shirt with the writing, ‘Sunday Service’. Back in the day, it would be considered as just another t shirt.
Today however, at the sight of Sunday Service every rap lover finds themselves in the world of Kanye.
Kanye’s Sunday service stands for many things including making the unconventional issues mainstream and going against the wind without an iota of fear or doubt in your dreams.
A lot about Kanye’s life has always been questioned. At the start of 2019, it was his way of worship and prayer when he started the Sunday Service. To Ye, the Sunday service provides an opportunity to be himself and yet do amazing things, touch and impact lives the world over.
Tata’s ‘Sunday Service’ has for years past, been his ability to create impact by rapping in Limbum, language of the Mbum people.
Tata introduced Limbum flow and stood by it even when it was not immediately welcomed or embraced by many, especially those that don’t understand the language.
He has capitalised on it and remained resilient despite the challenges it entails.
In Asapkid’s ‘Blow’, he tells of this journey and how he refused to sell his soul by not deviating from that Limbum flow.
Now, his works are going beyond borders and he is reaping the fruits of his labour.
He goes on to throw in a Dinga man reference (Erreur For Mboutoukou Na Damé For Ndoss), give Jovi his accolades, and announce an upcoming album.
Who else but Tata Lunga Sheynkip (say the whole name!) can pull this off?
