UK-based Artist, Angu Ngwa Sheds Light On Anglophone Crisis

He is not only expressing his passion, but is also shedding light on the plight of the Anglophone crisis victims through his videos.

24-year-old Cameroonian artist, Angu Ngwa, aka ‘Jbank’ is a student at Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom. He left for the UK in 2016 and ever since his, he has developed his passion for dance.

He has since shared this passion on YouTube under the name “Jbank”.

He is not only expressing his passion, but is also shedding light on the plight of the Anglophone crisis victims through his videos.

Angu Ngwa uploaded his first YouTube video in 2017, dancing to the song “Je serai la” produced by Locko. Since then, he has been uploading multiple videos from the UK which have had tens of thousands of views and have had major impact on viewers across the world, especially in the UK.

On May 19th 2021, Jbank uploaded a sensational video titled “Presence Of God” which had over 10,000 views in just 2 days.

At the beginning of Jbank’s video, Jbank talks about the war going on in Cameroon, the oppression of English-speaking Cameroonians and the latest news about the death of  Anglophone children in the North West Region of Cameroon.

Angu Ngwa’s video about the Anglophone crisis made people across Cameroon and even the rest of the world aware of the killings in the North West and the plight of thise who dare to speak against the Government such as Journalists.

Angu Ngwa’s video starring English citizens had such a powerful impact that it received feedback for encouraging the English-speaking Cameroonians. One of such comments reads: “Cameroon will change because of You! It takes one person like you”.

In addition to that, he has been doing several live videos with his followers on his social media platforms.

Since the start of the Cameroon Anglophone crisis, at least 6,000 people have been killed, more than 1 million have migrated.

Rights groups say hundreds of villages have been touched

Over 200 villages have been burned down and hundreds of people arrested and imprisoned. Many have also been abducted by separatist fighters with some tortured, maimed and even killed.
